DEEPAWALI (LAXMI PUJA)

Historically Diwali, or Deepawali, is celebrated to commemorates Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile, defeating Ravana, the demon king. The people of Ayodhya welcomed him by lighting diyas (lamps).In some parts of India, Diwali is celebrated for Lord Krishna’s victory over the demon king Narakasura. Also, Diwali is associated with the worship of Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, who is believed to visit homes that are clean and well-lit.
However, the underlying theme of the festival symbolizes the triumph of light (good) over darkness (evil) and knowledge over ignorance.
